Pusser's Gunpowder Proof Rum is a high-strength overproof rum produced to a robust specification that delivers intense flavour and high alcohol content. Overproof rums have a long tradition in Caribbean rum production, originally produced to meet the Royal Navy's gunpowder test — where a rum was considered proof if it would still ignite gunpowder when doused in spirit. Today, overproof rums are prized by cocktail bartenders for their flavour intensity and mixing power, as well as by collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the concentrated character of undiluted or minimally diluted spirit.
