Opal Nera Black Sambuca is a sophisticated Italian liqueur made from a distillation of elderberries, star anise and other herbs and spices, giving it a distinctive deep black colour and a smooth, intensely aromatic anise character. Born in Canelli in the Piedmont region of Italy, Opal Nera is darker, richer and slightly less sweet than traditional white sambuca, with berry and herbal complexity alongside the classic aniseed note. Served the traditional Italian way — neat, chilled, or with three coffee beans floating in the glass (con la mosca) — Opal Nera is a dramatic and flavoursome digestif.
