From the Fuji Gotemba distillery in the foothills of Mount Fuji comes one of Japan's most quietly impressive blended whiskies. Crafted by Kirin's Chief Blender Jota Tanaka, the Signature Blend marries medium and heavy grain whiskies with a backbone of peated malt, all matured in former ex-Bourbon American oak barrels. The distillery draws its water from rain and snowmelt off Mount Fuji itself — the name "Fuji Sanroku" translates as "at the foot of Mount Fuji," and the iconic peak features proudly on the label.

It is one of the few Japanese whiskies bottled non-chill filtered and at a robust 50% ABV, preserving the full depth of flavour and texture that lighter, filtered whiskies often lose. Tasting Notes
The nose opens with robust malt, soft vanilla and a swirl of cooked orchard fruit. On the palate, layers of honeycomb and dense pastry give way to a thread of oily peat smoke, balanced by gentle toffee and warming spice from the bourbon-cask maturation. The finish is long and elegant, carrying fresh pear, nutmeg and a lingering hint of raisin.

Serves Best With
Best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube to let the 50% strength open up gradually. A few drops of water will lift the malt and fruit notes beautifully. It also makes an exceptional highball — pour 45ml over ice in a tall glass, top with chilled soda water, and garnish with a lemon twist for a crisp, smoke-tinged refresher. On the food side, pair with grilled yakitori, smoked salmon, aged hard cheeses, or dark chocolate to echo the whisky's gentle peat and spice.
