Jacopo Poli Sarpa Grappa is produced by the Poli distillery, a family-owned artisanal grappa producer established in 1898 in Schiavon, near Bassano del Grappa, in the Veneto region of northeast Italy. The Poli family is one of the oldest grappa-producing families in Italy, and the distillery is now operated by the fourth generation. The Sarpa expression is produced from a blend of pomace from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, distilled in traditional batch stills to preserve the aromatic character of the raw material. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml format. On the nose, the grappa presents a clean, grape-forward aroma with notes of fresh fruit, cherry and a subtle hint of wood. The palate is smooth and full, with the characteristic warmth of well-crafted Italian grappa. The finish is clean, persistent and well-defined.
