Jacobinus Schwarzbier is a German schwarzbier — a dark lager style from the traditional brewing regions of Germany, characterised by its deep brown to black colour and smooth, roasted malt character without the heavy bitterness often associated with stouts or porters. Schwarzbier is brewed with dark malts that contribute colour and flavour while the cold lagering process rounds out the body and delivers the clean, smooth finish characteristic of German lager styles. The nose offers roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of caramel, while the palate is smooth, dry and moderately bitter with a clean, roasted finish. Serve well chilled at 6-8 degrees Celsius in a traditional Seidel or pint glass.
