Hennessy VS (Very Special) Cognac is produced by Maison Hennessy, founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy in Cognac, France. As the world's largest Cognac producer, Hennessy has been crafting eaux-de-vie from grapes grown across the Cognac appellation for over 250 years. VS is composed of over 40 different eaux-de-vie, each aged for a minimum of two years in Limousin oak casks. The blend is assembled by the Hennessy Tasting Committee to ensure consistency across each release. On the nose, the VS presents fresh and fruity aromas of pear, apple blossom and light toast, with a subtle hint of oak. The palate is soft and accessible, with notes of candied fruit, light vanilla and gentle spice. The finish is smooth and of medium length, clean and slightly warming. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml format.
