Don Julio Real Extra Añejo Tequila is the ultra-premium flagship expression from Tequila Don Julio, produced at the La Primavera distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Founded in 1942 by Don Julio González, the distillery is regarded as one of Mexico's most prestigious tequila producers. The Real expression is classified as an Extra Añejo, requiring a minimum of three years ageing. It is matured for over three years in American whiskey barrels and presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter. The extended maturation imparts an exceptional depth of colour and complexity. On the nose, rich aromas of dark caramel, toasted oak, dark chocolate, dried fruit and warm spice develop with complexity. The palate is extraordinarily rich and full-bodied, with concentrated flavours of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, dark chocolate and long-aged rancio character. The finish is exceptionally long and refined. Bottled at 40% ABV.
