Don Julio Blanco Tequila is produced by Tequila Don Julio at the La Primavera distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The distillery was founded in 1942 by Don Julio González, who pioneered a new approach to agave cultivation and tequila production — including the planting of agave in wider rows to allow individual plants to receive more nutrients and sunlight, resulting in higher-quality piñas at harvest. Don Julio Blanco is produced from 100% Blue Weber Agave estate-grown in the Jalisco Highlands, roasted in brick ovens and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. The expression is unaged and bottled at 38% ABV to preserve the fresh, natural agave character. On the nose, aromas of fresh agave, citrus zest, light herbal notes and a gentle pepper are present. The palate is clean and crisp, with sweet cooked agave, citrus and a dry, mineral quality. The finish is clean, focused and of medium length.
