Codigo 1530 Reposado Tequila is produced at the Destilería Casa Maestri in Jalisco, Mexico. Codigo 1530 was founded in 2009 and is positioned as a premium, additive-free tequila brand producing spirits from 100% fully mature Blue Weber Agave. The Reposado expression is aged for a minimum of four months in uncharred French oak Napa Valley wine barrels, previously used for Pinot Noir. This unconventional choice of barrel contributes a delicate wine character alongside the classic vanilla and spice notes typical of Reposado ageing. On the nose, aromas of ripe agave, cooked fruit, subtle wine influence and vanilla develop with oak warmth. The palate is smooth and rounded, with agave sweetness, delicate fruit character from the wine barrel and a soft spice. The finish is medium-long, smooth and defined by a subtle wine-oak character. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml format.
