Château de Laubade VSOP Bas-Armagnac is produced at Château de Laubade, an estate established in 1870 in the Bas-Armagnac sub-region of Gascony, Southwest France, and operated by the Lesgourgues family since that time. This expression is produced from four traditional grape varieties — Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco — grown on the estate's 105 hectares of vineyard. The spirit is distilled in a traditional alambic Armagnacais still and aged between 6 and 12 years in Gascony oak casks before blending and bottling at 40% ABV. On the nose, intense ripe fruit, plum, pastry and vanilla develop alongside subtle notes of dried flower and spice. The palate is rounded, smooth and delicate, with citrus, vanilla and characteristic Bas-Armagnac complexity. The finish is persistent and elegant. Château de Laubade is located in Sorbets, Gers, Gascony, France.
