Casamigos Mezcal 40% 700ml Bottle

Casamigos Mezcal is produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, from 100% Espadin agave (Agave angustifolia) plants that are a minimum of seven years old at harvest — older than the typical Espadin used in mezcal production. Oaxaca is the spiritual home of mezcal, and the Espadin variety accounts for the majority of mezcal production in the state. Following harvest, the agave piñas are slow-roasted in underground pit ovens lined with volcanic rock and fuelled with mesquite and oak wood, a process that imparts the characteristic smokiness associated with mezcal. The cooked agave is then crushed, fermented in open-air vats and distilled. On the nose, semi-sweet smoke, roasted agave, tropical fruit and light floral notes are characteristic. The palate is balanced, with smooth smoke, cooked agave sweetness, earth and spice. The finish is medium-long, smoky and distinctly Oaxacan in character. Bottled at 40% ABV.
