Carlos I Gran Reserva is a premium Spanish brandy produced in the Marco de Jerez region of Andalusia, Spain. It is produced by Osborne, one of Spain's oldest spirit and wine producers, founded in El Puerto de Santa María in 1772. This brandy is aged using the traditional Solera system, in which the spirit is progressively transferred through a series of American oak casks previously used for ageing Pedro Ximénez sherry. This process imparts a rich, complex character that is characteristic of the Jerez brandy style. On the nose, aromas of dried fruit, leather, vanilla and warm spice develop alongside subtle sherry influence. The palate is full-bodied and richly structured, with notes of raisin, caramel, dark chocolate and toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, with lingering sweetness and spice. Carlos I Gran Reserva is bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml format.
