Camus Matured in Barrels Cognac is produced by Camus La Grande Marque, a family-owned Cognac house founded in 1863 and based in the town of Cognac, France. This expression highlights the influence of oak maturation, showcasing the depth and character that extended barrel ageing contributes to Cognac. The spirit is distilled from grapes grown in the Cognac appellation using traditional Charentais copper pot stills and matured in French oak casks for an extended period. The result reflects the craft of balancing grape-derived fruitiness with the vanilla, spice and structure imparted by oak. On the nose, notes of toasted wood, vanilla and dried fruit are evident. The palate is rounded and complex, with caramel, dark spice and subtle tobacco. The finish is long, warm and defined by its oak character.
