12 Ouzo is a traditional Greek anise-flavoured spirit produced in Greece, where Ouzo has been crafted for centuries as an integral part of the country's culinary and social culture. Made by distilling a neutral grain or grape spirit and redistilling it with anise seeds, along with other botanicals such as star anise, fennel and coriander, 12 Ouzo develops its signature aroma and naturally milky white appearance when diluted with water. The spirit presents with a clear, water-white colour with an intensely aromatic nose of anise and sweet herbal notes. On the palate it is smooth and warming, with a clean, lingering anise finish. Serve over ice or with cold water at 4-6 degrees Celsius.
