Tasting Notes
Deep, lustrous mahogany with amber and ruby highlights. The nose is breathtakingly complex — waves of Mizunara incense, aged Sherry, dark dried fruit, rose, sandalwood, and rich beeswax, with subtle hints of aged leather and dark spice developing slowly over time. The palate is extraordinarily rich, full-bodied, and silky — delivering dark honey, candied orange peel, stewed fig, bitter chocolate, clove, and a deeply resonant oakiness that speaks to three decades of careful maturation. The finish is among the longest and most memorable of any whisky in the world, fading exquisitely through layers of Mizunara spice, dried fruit, sweet oak, and a final whisper of smoke.
Serves Best With
To be savoured neat, in a quality tulip or Glencairn glass, with nothing added. This is one of the world's great whiskies and deserves to be experienced without distraction. A moment of patience after pouring will allow the full complexity of the nose to reveal itself. Pairs with aged dark chocolate or dried fruit if desired, but truly needs nothing at all.
