Tequila Herradura is one of the oldest and most respected tequila producers in Mexico, established in 1870 and now part of the Brown-Forman portfolio. Herradura is notable for being among the first producers to introduce the Añejo and Reposado classifications to the industry. The Silver expression is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave grown on Herradura's own estate in Amatitán. Uniquely among major blanco tequilas, Herradura Silver is rested for 45 days in American white oak before bottling — longer than most silvers — which contributes additional smoothness while still retaining the fresh agave character. On the nose, herbal agave, citrus and light oak are present. The palate is clean, smooth and well-defined, with crisp agave, citrus and a delicate herbal character. The finish is medium-long and clean.
