Part of the Campari Group since 2008, Espolon was founded by master distiller Cirilo Oropeza in 1998. The Reposado expression is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave from the Jalisco Highlands. After distillation, the Reposado is aged for a minimum of four months in new American white oak barrels, before being transferred to Hungarian oak barrels for finishing. This two-stage barrel regime contributes a rich, complex vanilla and caramel profile. On the nose, aromas of caramel, vanilla, cooked agave and toasted wood develop. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with flavours of vanilla, caramel, warm oak spice and ripe agave. The finish is of medium-long length, smooth and warming, defined by the complementary oak character.
