The Añejo expression is aged in ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for a period of approximately two years, well exceeding the one-year regulatory minimum for Añejo tequila. This extended ageing in American white oak barrels previously used for Buffalo Trace bourbon contributes rich colour, complex vanilla and caramel notes, and the characteristic bourbon-influenced character for which the Corazon range is recognised. On the nose, aromas of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, toasted wood and warm spice develop alongside the underlying agave character. The palate is full, complex and richly structured, with vanilla, caramel, dark fruit and well-integrated oak spice. The finish is long and warming.
