Codigo 1530 was founded in 2009 and has established a distinctive house style centred on the use of Napa Valley wine barrels for maturation of its tequilas. The Añejo expression is aged for a minimum of 18 months in uncharred French oak Napa Valley wine barrels previously used for Pinot Noir wine. This extended maturation contributes significant depth of colour and complexity, with the wine barrel imparting a distinctive character unique within the Añejo category. On the nose, complex aromas of dried fruit, toasted oak, caramel, vanilla and a subtle wine character develop. The palate is full and richly structured, with concentrated agave, oak-derived caramel, dried fruit and the distinctive Napa Valley wine influence. The finish is long, warm and refined.
