The Balvenie Sixty, the distillery’s oldest liquid released to date. A commemorative single cask release selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie in honour of our Malt Master, David C. Stewart MBE’s six-decade career at the distillery – the longest serving Malt Master in industry history.
The careful selection is a single European Hogshead cask from 1962, the year David started at the distillery, yielding only 71 bottles to be sold globally from early 2023.
The packaging resembles a work of art; made from glass, gold and brass.The tube casing was designed to reflect layers of memories from David’ career. With five layers each etched with personal anecdotes from influential individuals along David’s journey.
TASTING NOTES:
Rich toffee, roasted coffee and beautifully layered oak, the flavour evolves with time revealing bursts of cloves, nutmeg, charred oak and candied orange.
SERVING SUGGESTION:
Serve neat or with a couple of drops of water (to bring out the flavours).
